Flumazenil(Romazicon)

Benzodiazepin receptor antagonist

Note to self Flumazaenil is to Benzo as Narcan is to Opiod

Antagonizes the actions of benzodiazepines on the CNS

Reversal of respritory depression and the sedative effects from pure Benzodiazepine OD

• Hypersensitivity
• Tricyclic antidepressant OD
• Seizure prone Pts
• Coma of unknown etiology

• Nausea/Vomiting
• Agitation
• Visual Disturbances
• Seizures

• Adult:
• 1st 0.2mg IV/IO over 15sec
• 2nd 0.3mg IV/IO over 30sec
• 3rd 0.5 IV/IO over 30sec
• If no response repeat once every minute until adequate response or a total of 3mg
