    • ACS

  4. Heparin Contraindications
    • Should not be used unless medically necessary
    • Active bleeding
    • Recent trauma
    • Known hypersensitivity to drug/beef/pork
  5. Heparin Adverse
    • Confusion
    • Edema
    • Fever
    • Bruising
    • Bleeding complications
  6. Heparin Dosage
    • Adult: Loading - 60units/kg IV(max 4,000units)
    • Maintenance - 12units/kg/hr(max 1,000units/hr)

    Peds: 50units/kg followed by infusion
