  1. Who is screened for GDM?
    All women > 25 years, plus all <25 with >1RF
  2. RF's for GDM?
    >25 yrs, obesity, non-white (aboriginal, hispanic, asian, african), FHx DM, Prior GDM, Prior baby > 4kg
  3. Values for 1hr 50g OGCT (Oral Glucose Challenge Test)
    <7.8 mM = no GDM, 7.8 to 10.2 needs OGTT, ≥10.3 mM = GDM
  4. Normal Values for 75g OGTT (need to fast)
    FPG < 5.3, 1h < 10.6, 2h < 8.9
  5. Interpretation of 75g OGTT
    • If 1 value is 5.3, 10.6, 8.9 or higher = IGT
    • If 2 values are AbN = GDM
  6. Non-medical treatment of nausea in pregnancy/hyperemesis gravidarum?
    Non-pharm: rest, avoid triggers/odours, acupressor on wrist, ginger
  7. Medical treatment of nausea/HG in pregnancy?
    • Diclectin 10mg doyxlamine with pyridoxine(B6) - 2 tabs qHS, 1 am, 1 pm - up to 8 tabs/d
    • can add Gravol 25mg PO QID PRN
