What are the three types of blood vessels in the body?
arteries, veins, capillaries
What is the circulatory system for blood flow?
heart > arteries > arterioles > capillaries > venules > veins > heart
What is pulmonary circulation?
circulation of blood thru the vessels from the heart to the lungs and back to the heart
Distole occurs when...?
ventricle walls relax and blood flows into heart from venae cavae & pulm veins.
Systole occurs when...?
occurs after distole, the walls of rt & lft ventricles contract to pump blood into pulm artery & aorta.
