• Alternate pitch (SEC 1 & 2 only)
• Direct pitch (SEC 1 & 2)
• Direct roll
• Abnormal attitude
8. FLT CTL Panel

Under Normal Law, what do the 3 SECs control?
• Primary - Spoiler control (roll)
• Standby - Elevator/Stabilizer control (SEC 1 & 2) back up the ELACs.
9. FLT CTL Panel

What is the sole purpose of SEC 3?
Spoiler control
10. FLT CTL Panel

Define: FAC
FAC = Flight Augmentation Computer
11. FLT CTL Panel

How many FACs are installed?
2 FACs installed.
12. FLT CTL Panel

What are the functions of the FACs?
• Rudder Trim
• Rudder Travel Limit
• Yaw Control
• Flight Envelope Protection - vertical
• Windshear Protection
• Low Energy Protection
• Alpha Floor Protection
• PFD speed scale
13. FLT CTL Panel

Under Normal Law, what do the FACs provide (YAWL)?
• Yaw Control - Dampening and turn coordination, rudder limiter, rudder trim
• Airspeed Protection Computation (Alpha Prot, high/low limits, maneuvering speed, PFD speed scale
• Windshear Protection
• Low Energy Warning Protection "Speed, Speed, Speed"
14. FLT CTL Panel

Is full rudder deflection available in all regimes?
No. Rudder deflection is limited as a function of airspeed.
15. FLT CTL Panel

What is the computer and priority for the Ailerons?
ELAC 1 -> ELAC 2
16. FLT CTL Panel

What is the computer and priority for the Elevator and Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer?
ELAC 2 -> ELAC 1 -> SEC 2 -> SEC 1
17. FLT CTL Panel

How are the flight control surfaces controlled and actuated?
All surfaces are controlled electrically and actuated hydraulically.
18. FLT CTL Panel

When is automatic pitch trim available?
In flight under Normal Law with a bank angle < 33 degrees with, or without, the autopilot engaged.
19. FLT CTL Panel

If the active elevator actuator fails, what occurs?
Control is transferred to the other actuator.
20. FLT CTL Panel

How is roll control normally achieved?
1 aileron and 4 spoilers on each wing.
21. FLT CTL Panel

If both FACs fail is maximum rudder deflection available?
Yes - after slat extension.
22. EVAC Panel

What is checked on the EVAC panel during the COCKPIT PREPARATION check?
• CAPT & PURS switch in CAPT position
• COMMAND push button is guarded
23. EVAC Panel

How would the flight crew command an evacuation?
Make a PA announcement: "EVACUATE, EVACUATE, EVACUATE" (GOM 06.14.02.02)Press the EVAC COMMAND push buttonSilence the EVAC alarm on the flight deck by puchsing the EVAC HORN SHUT OFF push button
24. EVAC Panel

What would happen if the EVAC COMMAND push button is pressed a 2nd time?
25. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

• AC ESS and AC ESS SHED
• DC ESS and DC ESS SHED
26. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

What three things doe the RAT & EMER GEN red FAULT light indicate?
• Loss of AC GEN BUS 1 & 2
• Airspeed above 100 knots
• Emergency generator not supplying AC power
27. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

What is the function of the RAT & EMER GEN push button?
AUTO - RAT will automatically extend if AC BUS 1 & 2 are not powered and airspeed > 100 kts..

MAN - Extends the RAT at any time.
28. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

How long does it take the RAT to extend and provdie power?
8 seconds total (3 secs. for RAT extension, 5 secs. to pressurize the Blue hyd. sys. and pwr. the EMER GEN).
29. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

When should the red FAULT light on the RAT & EMER GEN push button be expected?
During the 8 sec. RAT deployment and pwr. up.
30. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

What powers the EMER GEN?
Blue hydraulic power provided by the RAT.
31. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

What is the output of the EMER GEN?
5 kVA
32. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

What is the output of the Static Inverter?
1 kVA
33. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

Is there another way to deploy the RAT?
Yes, RAT MAN ON from the HYD Panel.
34. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

What is different about this deploying the RAT via the RAT MAN ON (HYD Panel) compared to normal deployment?
Blue HYD pressure only - No EMER GEN
35. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

Do pilots use the EMER GEN TEST push button?
No - a maintenance function only
36. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

What happens when you push the GEN 1 LINE push button?
• GEN 1 Line Contactor opens and the white OFF light illuminates.
• AC BUS 1 is pwr. by GEN 2 through the BUS TIE CONTACTOR.
• GEN 1 continues to power a fuel pump in each wing.
37. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

Smoke Procedures
38. EMER ELEC PWR Panel

What does the amber SMOKE light in the GEN 1 LINE push button indicate?

Will there be any other indications?
Smoke detected in the avionices ventilation ducting.

Other inidcations would be a ECAM warning and amber FAULT lights in the EXTRACT and BLOWER push buttons.
39. GPWS Panel

Pressing the SYS push button does what?
Inhibit all EGPWS warnings except TERR system.
40. GPWS Panel

What does an amber FAULT light in the SYS push button indicate on the GPWS panel?
Any failure of GPWS modes 1 through 5.
