    • milder version of SZ (pervasive pattern of social and interpersonal deficits marked by acute discomfort with close relationships)
    • often seen in relatives of people with full-blown SZ
    • ideas of reference
    • odd beliefs, magical thinking
    • suspicious

    • persecution/paranoia - FBI, CIA, govt is following you
    • grandeur - thinking you are someone chosen or special; Jesus, JFK, special skills
    • control - believing you are controlled by an outside force (the devil)
    • reference - external cues relate specifically to them; radio or T.V. speaks directly to you

    • sensing something that isn't really there
    • most common: hearing voices
    • commanding, conversing - bizarre
    • commenting - non-bizarre
