  1. Percutaneous balloon valvuloplasty:
    • This technique involves cardiac cath and the introduction of a balloon catheter into the aortic valve orifice.
    • The balloon is repeatedly inflated until the valve lumen is further opened, thus relieving stenosis
  2. Valvuloplasty:
    • Involves the direct repair of torn leaflets or clefts by open heart surgery
    • The advantages:higher survival, fewer complications ,
    • reduced need for anticoagulation
  3. Valve Repair:
Annuloplasty: procedure to reduce an enlarged annulus, the fibrous ring surrounding the valve .

    • A prosthetic ring is sutured into the circumference of the mitral or tricuspid annulus,
    • and the stitches are pulled together toward the prosthesis, reducing the size of the valve orifice
  4. Valve replacement:
The heart is generally approached by a median sternotomy, and cardiopulmonary bypass is initiated

The Ross procedure is an alternative method of aortic valve replacement using the patient’s own pulmonic valve, which has all the characteristics of the patients aortic valve
  5. Types of prosthetic valves:
    • Allograft and xenograft replacement valves no need for anticoagulants
    • –good for about 10 years

Others artificial types patients needs anticoagulants
