In case of a fire in your storage area, what should firefighters wear?
Wear air-supplied respirators and rubber clothing.
Name several points you need to consider when choosing a storage site?
When choosing a storage site, it is important to consider whether flooding is possible and whether the location is downward or uphill from sensitive areas such as homes and ponds. Choose an area that offers protection for sensitive sites in case windblown pesticide dusts spread.
Pesticides should be stored in what kind of container?
Pesticides should be in the original container with the label clearly legible. If the container is unsafe then put it into another container and put the original label on the the new container.
What are the main problems with runoff water from your storage area?
Runoff from storage areas could contaminate surface or groundwater with pesticide residue.
How should you treat collected runoff water?
should be treated as a surplus pesticide and disposed of properly.
Why is a good supply of soap and water a "must" in any pesticide storage area.
to make decontamination and cleanup convenient.
What other materials should be on hand in a good storage area?
Adsorbtive clay, activated charcoal, vermiculite, pet litter, or saw dust to soak up the spills; hydrated lime and high pH detergent; shovel; broom; dust pan; and fire extinguisher
Whay is the storage area not a good place to keep your lunch, tobacco, and street clothes while your on the job?
Storage of pesticides should be away from clothes food and and tobacco in case of pesticide contamination.
Why should the storage area be kept cool?

Why do herbicides need to be stored in a special area apart from other pesticides?
they can vaporize and spread into adjacent pesticides
How should you organize the disposal section of your storage area?
pesticides grouped together according to their disposal method, with the label facing forward
What should you do when you discover that one of your pesticide containers is corroding?
put it in a suitable larger container which can be sealed and labeled.
Why should all pesticides be stored in their original container whenver possible?
The original container has the label for proper handeling and saftey instructions
How should you store opened containers of chlorates?
Once opened, do not store chlorates

Pesticide equipment can contain pesticide residual pesticides and handling this in a yard exposes non-target areas to potentially dangerous chemicals.
Describe how you would clean up a pesticide spill
wash it off a person first, before changing into dry clothing. Clean the storage area with a proper crew with protective clothing on. For spilled liquid, throw an absorbtive material over the chemical to soak up as much as possible. then shovel it into a drum. for spills swept dry collect it and throw in a drum. then nuetralize the pesticide with hydrated lime before rinsing the entire area with water. this rinse water should be disposed of properly
