    Prolongs refractory period in all cardiac tissues
  4. Indications
    V-Fib/Pulseless V-Tach, V-Tach with pulses, SVT's refractory to other antidysrhythmics
  5. Onset of action
    • Onset- immediate
    • Peak- varies
    • Duration- varies
    • Half-life- 48 days
  6. Contraindications
    Severe sinus node dysfunction, sinus bradycardia, 2nd and 3rd degree atrioventricular blocks
  7. Precautions/side effects
    Heart failure, hypotension, anorexia, nausea, malaise/fatigue, tremors, pulmonary toxicity, ventricular ectopic beats
  8. Adult dose
    • V-Fib/Pulseless V-Tach 300mg IVP then after 5 min 150mg IVP
    • V-Tach w/ pulses 150mg over 10 min (15mg/min)
  9. Pedi dose
    5mg/kg
  10. Max dose adult
    450mg IV bolus or 2.2g in 24 hrs
  11. Max dose pedi
    10mg/kg
  12. Route of Administration
    IV/IO
  13. How supplied
    300mg Brista-jets 150mg vial
