A harmony of colour is created when colours close to each other on the colour wheel are used together.

A contrast of colours occurs when colours far apart on the colour wheel are used together.
What is an advancing colour and how would they appear to be?
An advancing colour is a warm colour and it would appear to be closer.
What is a receding colour and how would they appear to be?
A receding colour is a cool colour and it would appear to be closer.

The term tone is somethign used to describe how strong or weak a colour is.
How do you make a tint and what impression does it give off?
You add white to a colour and gives an impression of softness.
How do you make a shade and what does it make objects appear?
You add black or grey to a colour and makes objects apper heavy.
