  1. Class
    Depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent
  2. Description
Short acting depolarizing skeletal muscle relaxant used to facilitate ET Intubation
  3. Mechanism of Action
Short acting depolarizing skeletal muscle relaxant. Combines with cholinergic receptors in the motor nerves to cause depolarization, thus inhibiting neuromuscular transmission and blocks Acetylcholine.
  4. Onset of Action
    • Onset: 30-60sec (IV) 2-3min (IM)
    • Peak: 1-3min
    • Duration: 2-3min (IV) 10-30min (IM)
    • Half-life: 5-10min
  5. Indications
Achieve paralysis to initiate ET Intubation
  6. Contraindications
    • Known Hypersensitivity
    • Penetrating eye injury
    • Pt w/ history of narrow angle Glaucoma
