  1. articulation
    the place between two or more bones; a joint
  2. articular cartilage
    a type of hyaline connective tissue that covers the articulating surfaces of bones within synovial joints
  3. bursa
    • a padlike sac or cavity found in connective tissue, usually near joints
    • lined with synovial membrane and secretes synovial fluid that acts to reduce friction between tendon and bone, tendon and ligament, or between other structures where friction is likely to occur
  4. collagen
    a strong, fibrous, insoluble protein found in the connective tissue of tendons, ligaments, bone, cartilage, and deep fascia
  5. collagenous fiber
