Mechanism of Action
Acts by binding competitively to cholinergic receptors at the motor end plate to antagonize the action of ACh, an effect that is reversible in the presence of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors such as neostimine & edrophium
Onset of Action
Onset: 30-60 sec
Peak: 1-3 min
Duration: 30-60 min
Half-life: 14-18 min
Indications:
adjunct to general anesthesia to initiate ET intubation & provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgery or mechanical ventilation

Known hypersensitivity
Precautions
Administer in carefully adjusted doses
Slight elevation in HR & BP
Tachycardia in pedi

0.6 mcg/kg for RSI up to 600mcg
Maintenance dose 0.1-0.2 mcg/kg up to 100-200 mcg continuous infusion
