    This is a group of cells and calcium held together
  3. What is a joint?
    This is where two bones meet
  4. List three different types of joints and give an example of each.
    Fused joints eg. the skull

    Ball and socket joint eg. hip and shoulder

    Hinge joint eg. knee and elbow
  5. What is the difference between a ligament and a tendon?
    A ligament joins bone to bone whereas a tendon joins muscle to bone
  6. Explain the role of antagonistic muscles.
    Antagonistic muscles work opposite each other eg. biceps and triceps

    When a person lifts a book the biceps contracts and the triceps relax. When the book is lowered the biceps relax and the triceps contract.
