What are the fuctions of the skin?
- -Protects from chemical and innjuries , also against microbial infection.

What is melanin? what does it do?
also known as a pigment , gives hair and skin color
What is keratinzation?
when a cell migrates to the epidermis. hardens and evantually dies off. protecting the underneathing. Keratin is then added which resists damage
What are the layers of the dermis ?
Papillary and Reticular
The papillary dermis is the very top layer of the skin, which serves to protect the body from the external environment. It contains blood vessels, which supply the skin tissue with essential nutrients and oxygen, as well as regulating body temperature.
Whats reticular ?
- deepest layer
- sweat and oil glands
- peep pressure receptors
Translucent cells , containing keratin
