Who discovered the Olmec?

Matthew Sirling in 1939. he was sent by Smithsonian and National Geographic to investigate giant stone carvings in Mexico Gulf Coast.

Lived along the gulf of mexcio, southern Veracruz and western Tabasco from 1500 BCE- 100 CE
What were the Olmecs major cities? when did they settle them?

San Lorenzo, Tres Zapotes, and La venta. Settled by 1,200 BCE
When was the End of the Olmecs?
- 600 BCE exapansion and building ended
- 300 BCE total collapse
