  1. Ad Hominem
    An attack on the person rather than on the opponent's ideas
  2. Anaphora
    repeition of a word, phrase, or clause at the beginning of two or more sentences in a row
  3. Anecdote
    a hort, simple narrative of an incident; often used for humorous effect or to make a point
  4. aphorism
    a short, witty statement
  5. apotrophe
    calling out to an imaginary, dead, or absent person to a place, thing, or peronified abstraction

    a personal presentation of events and characters influenced by the authors feelings and opinions
  21. synecdoche
    • part of something is used to represent the whole
    • Ex. All hands on deck
  22. anadipilosis
    • the word is used near the end of the sentence and at the beginning of the sentence
    • Ex. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering
  23. zeugma 
    • 2 parts of a sentence joined by a single common noun or verb
    • Ex. She took my wallet and my heart in the same night
  24. epistolary

    coming of age story where the charachter grows morally and psycologicly
