Sampling Error
Discrepany that exisits between a smaple statistic and the corresponding populatino paramenter

Experiment
manipulate a varaiable

Correlational Study
Measures two different variable to see if there is a relationship between them.

Independent variable
The varible that is manitpulated

Dependent Variable
Is the varable observed to assess the effect of a treatment

discrete variable
Separate categories. Whole Numbers.

continuous variable
infinite number of possible values

Nominal Scales
Consists of a set of categories that have different names.

Ordinal Scale
Consists of a set of categories that are organized in an ordered sequence.

Interval Scale
Consists of categories with exactly the same size intervals. Zero is abritary.

Ratio Scale
Same as interval but zero is the bottom.

Positive Skew
Where the majority of the Data is on the left

Negative Skew
where the majority of the Data is on the right

Sample
sert of individuals selected from a apopulation, ussally to represent the population.

Cardinality
# of objects in a set

Formula for Z Score and what the variable stand for.
Z= [X  (MUE)]/(sigma)
 X = value given or reequest to find
 MUE = Average
 Sigma = Standard diviation

Statistic
is a value that describes a sample

parameter
is a value that describes a population

The central tendency of a set of measurements is a
single score that represents the center of the distribution.

What does variablity measure?
How far values tend to be from the central tendency.
