    • Temperature of the filament, (number of electrons).
    • Quantity of xrays produced.
    • Film density.

    Density increases

  4. What percentage of mAS is needed to produce a visible change on a film?
    30%
  5. How would you correct the visible change on a film using mAS?
    mAS must be changed by a factor of 2 (decrease to 50% or increase to 200%). Double it.
  6. What are kilovolts (kVp)?
    Controls the maximum current applied across the tube affecting the quality of the xrays and film contrast.
  7. What happens when you increase kV?
    Faster electrons, results in higher energy/ shorter wave and greater penetrability.
  8. What happens to the gray scale when increasing kV?
    Increase kVp = more grays
