What are the algebraic properties of equality?
 Addition property
 Subtraction property
 Multiplication Property
 Division Property

if a=b then a + c = b+ c
Addition property

a=b
a c= bc
Subtraction property

a=b
ac=bc
Multiplication property

a=b
a/c=b/c
Division property

Any real number is what?
Equal to itself (reflexive property)

_ _
AB (congruent sign) AB
Reflexive Property

What property can you switch the two sides of an equation?
Symmetric Property

<A=m<B then m<B=m<A
Symmetric Property

a=b
b=a
Symmetric property

If a=b and b=c then a=c
Transitive Property

If AB=BC and BC=AC then AB=AC
Transitive Property

If two things are equal to the same thing they are equal to each other
Transitive Property

This property says that if two things are equal then one may be substituted in place of the other
Substitution Property

x=y
6x=10
6y=10
Substitution property

AB=15
then AB + 5= 20
Addition Property

m<K =20 and m<J=m<K + m<L
then m<J = 20= m<L
Substitution property

if AB+CD=JK then JK=AB+CD
Symmetric Property

If XY=MR and MR=CD then XY=CD
Transitive Property
