  1. ion
    an atom, radical, or molecule that has gained or lost one or more electronsand has a negative or positive charge.
  2. Cation
    an ion that has a positive charge. Lost electrons. 
  3. Anion
    ion that has a negative charge. Gained electrons.
  4. Binary Ionic compound
    Two different elements that have different charges. (Metal and a nonmetal). 
  5. Ternary Ionic Compound
    Composed of 3 different elements which usually contain one or more polyatomic ions. 
  6. Polyatomic ion
    charged partivle consistiong of two or more elements that are chemically combined. 
  7. Stock System
    A roman numeral is used after the name of the element to indicate the charge. 
  8. Qualitative analysis
    Measuring a compound based on the quality or purity of the compound.
  9. Quantitave analysis
    Measuring a compound for quantity purposes. 
  10. Binary Molecular Compounds
    composed of atoms of two different nonmetallic elements.
