Action:
shortens the palate
Palatoglossus
Origin can pull insertion and vice versa
Forms the posterior faucial pillar
Origin:
palatal aponeurosis
Insertion:
pharyngeal aponeurosis as far down as the area of the thyroid cartilage
Action:
muscles narrows the pharynx and lower the soft palate
