  1. Ng Tachometer or TOT System
    • If Ng or TOT falls to zero or fails to rise and fall with corresponding power changes:
    • 1) Monitor other engine instruments
    • 2) Avoid high power settings
    • 3) Land as soon as practical

(Failure of the Ng tach-gen is usually accompanied by actuation of the ENG OUT warning horn and caution light)
  2. Torquemeter
    • If the torquemeter needle is unusually low or falls to zero with a corresponding readout, the torque line probably ruptured.  The restrictor will slow, not stop, the oil loss.
    • 1) Monitor engine instruments
    • 2) Land as soon as possible

    • If the needle falls to zero and the digital readout is extinguished, it's power loss to the gauge:
    • 1) Monitor engine instruments
    • 2) Check TRQ CB - IN
    • If CB resents:
    • 3) Continue flight
    • If not:
    • 4) Land as soon as practical
  3. Engine or Transmission Oil Pressures
    • On Ground:
    • Engine shall be shut down if trans oil press exceeds 70 psi or engine press exceeds 150 psi

    • Airborne:
    • If gauges fluctuate erratically, eng/trans oil pressure gauges are not within normal ranges:
    • 1) Land as soon as possible
    • (With suspected transmission malfunctions, make an approach with minimum power change to minimize changes to transmission torque)
  4. Engine or Transmission Oil Temperatures
    • If either oil temperature gauge indicator exceeds red line limitations:
    • 1) Land as soon as possible

    • If either oil temperature gauge fluctuates or falls to zero:
    • 2) Land as soon as practical
  5. Nr and Nf Tachometer Malfunction
Land as soon as practical, if all other gauges/lights are normal.

(Failure of the Nr tach-gen will normally be accompanied by the actuation of a steady warning horn and the ROTOR LOW RPM caution light)
  6. Pitot-Static Instruments
    • If the pitot instruments are wrong while power/attitude instruments are normal:
    • 1) PITOT HEAT Switches - HEAT

    • If icing conditions are present:
    • 3) Icing Procedures - Execute

    • If icing conditions are not present:
    • 4) Land as soon as practical
  7. Gyro Instruments
Utilize other instruments, report discrepancy upon return to base...do NOT fly IFR in the TH-57B
  8. Fuel Quantity Indicator
Utilize elapsed time to judge available remaining fuel.  Land as soon as practical
