What are some signs and symptoms of alzheimers?
Memory loss, loss of perception, loss of verbal ability, confusion, loss of judgment
What parts of the brain are damaged with alzheimers?
Hippocampus, neocortex, frontal and temporal lobes
What develops in the brain?
Neuritic plaques and neurofibrillary tangles
These consist of a dense core of Beta amyloid and surrounding degenerated axons and dendrites
Consist of twisted protein filaments and Beta amyloid, which is being overproduced.

What are some causes of alzheimers? (4)
Head injury, infection, alcohol and/or drugs, toxins
