  1. Deindividuation
    Refers to a loss of self-awareness and of individual accountability in a group. Lost of invidiuality. People are like this tend to behave badly.
  2. Optimal distinctiveness theory
    A theory put forth by Marilynn Brewer in which human behavior in groups is marked by an unending tension between trying to be similar and trying to be different.
  3. Evaluative apprehension
    Refers to concerns about people evaluating you. Use to explain some effects of social facilitation.
  4. Dominant response
    Defined as the most coommon response in that situation.
  5. Zajonc's social facilitation theory
    Theory of social faciliatation that says the presence of others increases the dominant response tendency.
  6. Social Loafing
    When individual's productivity is reduced because they are working in a group.
