    • Advanced diabetes insulin dependent(beta cells no longer produce insulin)
    • Type 1 diabetes
    • hypoglycemia
    • sulfonimide allergy(still given, be cautious)
    • *not contraindicated in renal failure*
  4. Adverse effects of Glipizide(Glucotrol)
    • hypoglycemia
    • weight gain
    • rash
    • Nausea
    • epigastric fullness
    • heartburn
  5. Route of Glipizide(Glucotrol)
    PO 5-10 mg daily(max 20mg)
  6. MOA of Glipizide(Glucotrol)
    • bind to beta cell receptors
    • stimulate insulin release
    • decrease glucagon secreations
