    This is not recommended as the new cable has a significant amount of permanent stretch that has yet to be taken out
  21. What should you do while RIH/POOH with a spliced cable?
    • Set the alarms if you need to for nearing the splice.
    • Slow down the winch and check the integrity of the cable i.e armor coming apart, shims showing, etc

    Slow the winch to <6000'/hr when splice is going over sheave wheels
