  1. legend
    An unverified story handed down from earlier times, especially one popularly believed to be historical.
  2. ballad
    A narrative poem, often of folk origin and intended to be sung, consisting of simple stanzas and usually having a refrain.
  3. nonfiction
    Writing dealing with facts and events rather than imaginative narration.
  4. novel
    A fictional prose narrative of considerable length, typically having a plot that is unfolded by the actions, speech, and thoughts of the characters.
  5. poetry
    A piece of literature written in meter; verse.
  6. humor
    The quality that makes something laughable or amusing; funniness
  7. feminist literature
    Presents female characters as agents. These stories present women as fully realized characters with faculties, desires, aggression, ires, lusts, and conflicts.
  8. Bildungsroman
    A novel whose principal subject is the moral, psychological, and intellectual development of a usually youthful main character.
  9. drama
    A prose or verse composition, especially one telling a serious story, that is intended for representation by actors impersonating the characters and performing the dialogue and action.
  10. romance
    A love affair.
