  1. Visual Inspection
    • Fluid pooling
    • Tires inflated properly
    • NW straight
    • Launch bar up
    • Pins out
    • Flaps/slats proper position
    • Doors/panels secure
    • Stab
    • Canopy down
  2. Interval T/O:
    • 7 seconds
    • Once airborne, lead - 92-94%
    • Abort A/S - 80 KIAS
    • Clear lead to center when clear
  3. CV Rendezvous
Joins a flight in a turn

    • Lead - 30 AOB
    • Wing - turn inside lead's radius, place lead on horizon

Max 10 knots of closure within 1000'

    • When 3 wingspans away, increase to¬†
    • 15' stepdown
    • 10' nose to tail
    • Finish maneuver like B&R
  4. Running Rendezvous
    • Lead - 92-94%
    • Wing - place lead on horizon

    • Set distance abeam - to create visual closure
    • (just outside HUD field of view)

    • No more than 50 knots excess
    • At 2000' lead begins to drift aft - reduce power so that at 1000' no more than 25 knots excess

Arrive on bearing line with no more than 15 knots closure

(Bearing - far wing tip behind vertical stab)
  5. TACAN Rendezvous
    • Briefed point TAC radial/fix - point 1
    • left hand circle
    • Wing will fly to point 500' below briefed altitude and maintain this until on bearing line

    • Call visual when wing see's lead
    • Once parameters met - place lead on horizon and continue join up as CV rendezvous
  6. Parade
    30 degree bearing

    3' lateral separation

    5' stepdown

Straight edge of stab over hook tip
  7. VFR/IFR turns
IFR/VFR into - rotate about lead's axis - maintain parade references

VFR away - rotate about own axis - create triangle reference with canopy bow, canopy rail, and leading edge of wing
  8. Box Crossunder
Simultaneously move back to 10' nose to tail, 15' stepdown (looking down leading edge of horz stab)

Slight wing dip to move a/c to other side (maintain front portion of MDC cord on underside of lead's intakes.
  9. B&R
Lead passes signal - wing acknowledges

    • Lead breaks away using 14-15 units AOA
    • Wing waits 2 seconds then breaks keeping lead on horizon to arrive 1000' in trail

    • In trail, wing should fly slightly step up
    • Perform 15 min check

    • Lead rolls into 30 AOB turn
    • Wing rolls into no more than 45 AOB turn - establish 10 knots of closure

When on bearing and 3 wingspans away - wing increases stepdown to 15', 10' nose to tail

Crosses below/behind and moves into away parade
  10. Underrun
    • 1) Uncontrolled closure
    • 2) Extremely acute and unable to return safely
    • 3) Lead can order underrun

    • Simultaneously:
    • 1) Lowers the nose
    • 2) Levels the wings
    • 3) Power to IDLE
    • 4) Speed Brakes Extended
    • 5) "Call sign 2, underrun"
  11. Lead Change
    When signaled and properly acknowledged

New wing will take cut away to increase lateral separation to 10'

Lower nose and decrease power to create 5' stepdown

Then move aft slowly maintaining 10' wingtip distance

Add power to stop on 30 degree bearing line

    Move into parade position

    Fuel Check
  12. Cruise
    • 45 degree
    • 15' stepdown, 20' nose to tail

Navy star on lead's inboard wingtip

    • Cruise turns away - move to inside of turn
    • Cruise turns into - maintain inside of turn
  13. Section Break
Lead - minimum of 80% power

Interval - 4 seconds keeping lead on horizon and establishing trail position
