  1. 25 About Midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
Midnight - Darkest moment of the day, darkest moment of your life,

Ask what are some of your dark moments

Here are two Christians in a strange town where they had been preaching the gospel of Christ.  The town's leaders, urged on by an angry mob, had ordered the two Christians beaten with rods. Following this humiliating treatment, the two had been thrown into the maximum security section of the prison.

The bible tells us that Paul and Silas complained at midnight..."NO".

"But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

How many believe that when Paul and Silas prayed they just prayed for themselves?

Folks watch us even when we don't know they are watching.

Despite what they were going through they gave God praises through prayer and song as the other prisoners watched.

No matter what our circumstances we should always give God praise
  2. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earth quake that the foundations of the prison were shaken.  At once all the prison doors flew open, and eveyone's chains came loose.
Do you know someone who has been blessed just by your mere presence?

Or just because they heard your voice.

Let's talk about that word earthquake.

The song says late in the midnight hour...

    • Im talking about an earthquake in its spiritual nature.
    • It is a earthquake that changed how we look at people. A new way to look at things. It even challenges us to overturn the way we even deal with our enemies.

Instead of getting angry we pray for them and now allow them to distract us from the gospel of christ. For we know God is a Good God, the Alpha and Omega, He is Jehovah Jireh he is my provider

  3. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped.
Why do you think the jailer wanted to kill himself?

Because he was responsible for the prisoner and he knew that he would be punished if the prisoners escaped.
  4. 28 But Paul shouted, "Don't harm yourself! we are all here! 29 The jailer called for the lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
Why didn't Paul allow the Jailer to kill himself?  Did Paul realize that he was with the people who wanted him and Silas in prison.

Do you know folks who just want to see you do bad.
