Notes from Air: A Resource Our World Depends On
Factories that are the "posterity" of the factories made during the IR are here today
They usually use oil or coal to power them, and emit greenhouse gases
The gases can mix with water in the air and create acids, that, when fall as acid rain, severely damage ecosystems
Although the air is getting cleaner, it is still very polluted. About 100 years ago, the air was so polluted there was acid fog called smog, which was caused by the burning of coal
Even when we cut down on air pollution, the effects will still take a long time to disappear because all of it is carried by the wind and can be anywhere in the world
