  1. What is a Low Visibility Takeoff?
    T.O. with RVR < 400m
  2. Fail Passive Flight control system?
    In the event of a failure, there is no significant out-of trim condition or deviation of flight path or attitude but the Landing is not completed automatically. For a fail-passive automatic flight control system the pilot assumes control of the aeroplane after a failure.
  3. Fail-Operational flight control system?
    In the event of a failure below alert height, the approach, flare and landing can be completed automatically. In the event of a failure, the automatic Landing system will operate as a fail-passive system.
  4. Low Vis - Aerodrome considerations?
    • low visibility procedures shall be in force prior to commencing any low visibility T.O. or Cat 2/3 approaches.
    • RVR reporting must be available prior commencing approach.
  5. Commencement and Continuation of Approach?

    Wet/contaminated RWY: All RVRs min. 200m

    • High Approach and RWY lighting x1,5 (night:x2)
    • Other lighting installation x1 (night:x1,5)

    • -Elements of approach light system

    • The minimum visual segment to control the aeroplane consists of 3 centerline lights/barrettes of the ALS and as a lateral element of the ground pattern either
    • -one crossbar of the ALS or
    • -the threshold lights or
    • -a barrette of the TDZ lighting of the landing RWY
  9. Descent below DA/H - CAT III B (fail operational)?
    • With DH: at least 1 centerline light
    • NO DH: no requirement for visual contact
