  1. parametric test
    when hyp is about specific population parameters
  2. nonparametric test
    when hyp specify shape of the population
  3. Type I error
    occurs when researcher concludes that IV has effect on DV but it doesn't
  4. Type II error
    when researcher concludes IV doesn't have effect on DV but it actually does
  5. Factors that affect Power
    • alpha: reducing the alpha level will reduce power
    • effect size: greater effect size, larger power
    • variability: as the variability decreased, power increased
