    a PBX is line an independent telephone system that the customer owns and houses on their premises. It supports 12 or more lines and provides its own dial tone and voice features.

    Its the same as analog and digital, just another interface like analog, digital T1-CAS, or PRI. Cbeyond has co-authored SIP connect with Cisco, Talk Switch, Avaya, Mitel and Broadsoft and launched Beyond Voice TM with SIP connect in Feburary 2005
