What is a static vlan?
A static vlan is when an administrator assigns ports statically to vlan.
What is a dynamic vlan and what is VMPS?
A dynamic Vlan is when a switch uses a VMPS (Vlan Membership Policy Server) to assign ports to vlans based on there mac address. some catilist switches can be a VMPS.
What are the 5 STP port states?
With STP what is the Forward delay?
- It is the time it takes for the switch to go from the listing to learning state, or from learning to forwarding.
- Default is 15 sec.
What is 802.1w standard for?
It is the standard for RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol).
