Discrepancy definition of reading disability
A difference exists between the student's ability and achievement.

Response to Intervention
An approach to the identification of reading/learning disabilities in which struggling students are provided with reading instruction that increases in intensity from high-quality classroom instruction to specialized one-on-one intervention in order to assess the student' ability to learn. Instruction is typically combined with diagnosis.
