  1. Frontal Plane
    • Runs along the long axis of the body. It extends laterally (from side to side)
    • Also called the┬ácoronal plane.
  2. Transverse Plane
    transverse plane lies at right angles to the long axis of the body (head to foot) dividing the body into superior (upper - above the waste) and Anterior (lower - below the waste) sections
  3. Sagital Plane
    Also runs along the long axis of the body and divides the body into left and right halves
  4. Mid-Sagital Plane
    a cut that passes along the body’s mid-line that divides the body into left and right halves
  5. LL Quadrant
    left lower (from belly button)
  6. LU Quadrant
    left upper (from belly button)
  7. RL Quadrant
    right lower (from belly button)
  8. RU Quadrant
    right upper (from belly button)
