  1. Femoral Nerve
    • Spinal Segment: Carries contributions from
    • anterior rami L2-L4 (posterior division)
    • FM: all muscles in anterior thigh, abdomen, also
    • iliacus and pectineus
    • FS: skin of anterior thing, anteromedial knee,
    • medial leg, medial foot
    • Location: passes under inguinal ligament to
    • enter the posterior thigh
  2. Obturator Nerve
    • Spinal segment: lumbar plexus L2-L4 (anterior)
    • FM: all muscles in medial compartment of thigh
    • except pectinius and HAM portion of ADD magnus
    • FS: skin on upper medial aspect of thigh
    • Location: descends down psoas major and enters
    • thigh through obturator canal
  3. Sciatic Nerve
    • Spinal Segment: branch of lumbosacral plexus L4 to S3
    • Common fibular (L4 to S2) is from posterior
    • division
    • Tibular (L4-S3) if from anterior division
    • FM: all muscles in posterior comp of thigh and
    • hamstring portion of adductor magnus (part attached to ischium) as well as all
    • leg and foot muscles
    • FS: skin on lateral side of leg and foot, as
    • well as sole and dorsal surface of foot
    • Location: enters gluteal region through greater
    • sciatic foremen below the piriformis. Eventually splits into the tibial portion
    • and the common fibular portion
  4. Superior Gluteal Nerve
    • Spinal Segment: posterior L4 to S1
    • FM: muscles of the gluteal region, specifically
    • Gluteus Medius, glut minimus, tesnor fasciae latae
    • FS: N/A
    • Location: originates in pelvis, enters thigh through greater sciatic foramen above the piriformis muscle
  5. Inferior Gluteal Nerve
    • Spinal Segment:
    • posterior L5- S2
    • FM: Muscles of the gluteal region, specifically
    • Gluteus Maximus
    • FS: N/A
    • Location: originates in the pelvis and enters the thigh through the greater sciatic foramen below the piriformis muscle
  6. Nerve to Obturator Internus
    • Spinal Segment: anterior L5 to S2
    • FM: nerves in gluteal region, specifically
    • Obturator Internus and superior gemellus
    • FS: N/A
    • Location: originates in the pelvis, enters the thigh through the greater sciatic foramen and goes below the piriformis muscle
  7. Nerve to Quadratus Femoris
    • Spinal Segment: anterior L5 to S1
    • FM: muscles in gluteal region, specifically
    • quadratus femoris and gemellus inferior
    • FS: N/A
    • Location:  it leaves the pelvis through the greater sciatic foramen, below the piriformis muscle, and runs down in front of the sciatic nerve, the superior andinferior gemellus muscles, and the tendon of theobturator internus, and enters the anterior surfaces of the muscles
