Jacob dreamed there was a ladder...

Abraham said "Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city?"

Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his children

The LORD said to Abram, "Leave your country, your family, and your relatives and go to the land I will show you."

But Joseph said to them, "Do not be afraid! Am I in the place of God? Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today."

Abraham to Sarah: "Say you are my sister"

And the angel of the LORD said to her, "Now you have conceived and shall bear a son; you shall call him Ishmael, for the LORD has given heed to your affliction."

Now Rachel had taken the household gods and put them in the camel's saddle and sat on them..."

"His master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph and said "Lie with me"

Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore, Isaac.

No longer shall your name be Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you the ancestor of a multitude of nations

Then Abraham reached out and took the knife to kill his son.

Then the man said, You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with humans and have prevailed.

Once when Jacob was cooking a stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was famished...Jacob said, "First sell me your birthright"...

Then Judah acknowledged them and said, "She (Tamar) is more in the right than I, since I did not give her to my son Shelah." And he did not lie with her again.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Now the whole earth had one language, and the same words.

I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

Now the serpent was more crafty than other wild animals that the LORD, God had made.

This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.
