- 10° flaps
- Hold brakes and runup
- Lift off at 51 kts
- Climb at V_x and hold until clear of obstacles
- Accelerate to V_y and raise the flaps at 60 kias.
List the steps for soft field takeoff (see IM for specific aircraft steps):
- 10° flaps
- Keep the aircraft rolling and keep the nose up by holding back pressure on the yoke
- Lift off as soon as possible, but stay in ground effect
- Once you have enough speed, climb out at V_y if applicable.
List the steps for short field landing (see IM for specific aircraft steps):
- 30° flaps
- 62 kias on final
- Once landed, retract flaps
- Pull back on yoke and apply full brakes
List the steps for soft field landing (see IM for specific aircraft steps):
- Use a short field approach
- Just before touchdown, give a little power
- Keep the nose off as long as possible
- Be light on the brakes and keep the yoke back as you taxi around.
