occurs when the dietary intake of vitamin B12, folate and iron is insufficient and haemoglobin in iron canot be performed, people will anaemia may feel tired, fatigue quickly, appear pale and may have a shortness of breath
dietary strategy to prevent anaemia
eat meals containing haem iron (2-3 times per week) and when eating non haem iron ensure it is eaten with foods rich in vitamin C
lifestyle strategy to prevent to anaemia
avoid tea and coffee at meal times as they decreases absorption of non-haem iron. avoid alcohol and and tobacco
