    • UCL of thumb

    • may need surgery bc can't grasp things if UCL is completely torn
    • Thumb splint/removable cast
  14. Bowler's Thumb
    • Pressure on thumb
    • Pain tingling numbness
    • Suppression of nerve
  15. de Quervian's Disease
    • Stenosing tenosynovitis of thumb (stiffening of capsule around tendon)
    • constant wrist movement
    • Postive finkelstein's test
  16. Finger Sprain
    • splint
    • Taping
  17. Mallet Finger
    • Loss of ROM/inability to extend distal phalange
    • Splint in full extension
    • No splint = loss of motion permanent
  18. Jersey Finger
    • opposite of mallet finger
    • Loss of ROM/inability to flex distal phalange
    • Must have surgery within 10 days
  19. Trigger Finger
    • Repeated motion of fingers/thumb causes tenosynovitis
    • Snapping, resistance to extension
    • splinting????
  20. Boutinnere's Disease
    • Rupture of central band - middle phalange¬†
    • Loss of ROM
    • Splint in extension
  21. Swan Neck Deformity
    • Opp of Boutinneres
    • Loss of ROM in flexion of middle phalange
    • Splint flexed

  22. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
    Compression of median nerve due to inflammation in wrist
