  1. Explain and give examples of chemical and mechanical weathering.
    Mechanical Weathering: physical disintegration of rock material without any change in it's chemical composition.

    Chemical Weathering: Decomposition of rock by the alteration of its minerals.
  2. What is soil and what is it composed of?
    • Made up of minerals
    • Rock, sand, clay, silt

    • Parent Material (rocks that are weathered away)
    • Time: longer time = more soil (vice versa)
