Slope
steepness of a slant of a line
Ratio
The amount up or down divided by the distance traveled
Determine the Slope of a Line from a Graph or 2 Points
The ‘y’ value over the ‘x’ value
Formula
To find the slope of 2 points without a graph but just coordinates, the formula is‘y2 – y1’dividedby ‘x2 – x1’ equals the slope of the coordinates
Lines Horizontal/Vertical
Horizontal means flat or side-to-side, vertical means up and/or down
Negative Slope
Positive Slope
0 Slope
Undefined slope
Negative Slope
: A slope slanting downward to the left
Positive Slope
: A slope slanting upward to the right
