    The amount of time it takes for a quantity to fall to half its value as measured at the beginning of the time period
  2. For a second order reaction, how does the half life behave?
    It doubles every time
  3. What is the differential form of the first order rate equation?
    d[A]/dt-k[A]
  4. What is the integrated form of the first order rate equation?
    [A] = [A]0 exp(-kt)

    Or, eqivalently

    ln[A] = ln[A]0kt
  5. What is the formula for the half life of a first order reaction?
    t1/2 = ln(2)/k
  6. What is the effect of temperature on the rate constant?
    • Rate will increase with temperature because...
