    Anthophyta
  2. What are the key reproductive adaptations of angiosperms?
    flowers and fruits (making them most widespread and diverse)
  3. What makes up the microsporophylls?
    stamen= anther+ filament
  4. What makes up the megasporophylls?
    carpel/pistil= stigma + style + ovary (containing one or more ovules)
  5. What does monoecious mean?
    there are both male and female flowers on the same plant. Usually need a second plant for fertilization.
  6. What does dioecious mean?
    There are male and female flowers on different individual plants.
  7. What is the function of fruit?
    Is a mature ovary containing seeds, aids in seed dispersal.

    male gametophytes (inside pollen)
  9. What is the pollen grain made up of?
    the sperm and pollen tube
  10. What is the reason for double fertilization?
    one sperm fertilizes the egg, the second one combines with two nuclei in female gametophyte forming a triploid endosperm which nourishes the embyro.
