    It is how the IOS will rank the reliability of a route to a network.
  2. What is the default Administrative Distance of a connected network?
    A connected network default AD is 0.

    A static route default AD is 1.

    EIGRP default AD is 90.

    It is when a network goes down and the router changes the cost to the network to infinity causing the neighbor routers to mark it as unreachable.

    If the router receives an update that has a lower metric than the original it will be removed, but if it is higher then it will be ignored and wait for the timer to run out.
