  1. How does the rate of reaction change if a first order reactant's concentration increases?
    • Increases by the same factor eg.
    • Increases by 2 : Rate increases by 21
  2. How does the rate of reaction change if a second order reactants's concentration changes?
    • Increases by that factor to the power 2
    • eg.
    • Increases by 2 : Rate increases by 22 = 4
    • Increases by 0.5 : Rate increases by 0.5= 0.25
  3. Which empties first: 4s or 3d electrons ?
    4s!!
  4. What is the electron configuration of Scandium?
    1s2 2s2p3s3p6 4s2 3d1
  5. What is the electron configuration of Titanium?
    1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s3d2
  6. What is the electron configuration of Vanadium?
    1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s3d5
  7. What is the electron configuration of Chromium?
    • 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s3d5
    • Chromium has one electron in each orbital of the 3d subshell rather than 2 in the 4s subshell.
    • This gives it more stability.
  8. What is the electron configuration of Manganese?
    1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s2 3d
  9. What is the electron configuration of Iron?
    1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s2 3d
  10. What is the electron configuration of Cobalt?
    1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s3d7
  11. What is the electron configuration of Nickel?
    • 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s3d8
  12. What is the electron configuration of Copper?
    1s2s2p6 3s2 3p4s3d10
  13. What is the electron configuration of Zinc?
    1s2s2p6 3s2 3p4s2 3d10
