A plane formed by the intersection of a horizontal number line (Xaxis) and a vertical number line (Yaxis).
Coordinate plane

The point where the Xaxis and Yaxis intersect on the plane.
Origin

The X and Yaxis divide the coordinate plane into 4 regions called __________.
Quadrants

An equation whose solution forms a straight line on a coordinate plane.
Linear equation

The horizontal axis on a coordinate plane.
Xaxis

A pair of numbers that can be used to locate a point on a coordinate plane.
Ordered pair

The Xcoordinate of the point where the graph of a line crosses the Xaxis.
Xintercept

The Ycoordinate of the point where the graph of a line crosses the Yaxis.
Yintercept

Measure of the steepness of a line or a graph.
Slope

Number that occurs most frequently.
Mode

The sum of the items in a set divided by the number of items in the set. The average.
Mean

Difference between the greatest and least values.
Range

A value much greater or much less than the others in the data set.
Outlier

A graph with points plotted to show a possible relationship between 2 sets of data.
Scatter plot

A graph showing how data is distributed by using medians, quartiles, least and greatest values.
Box and whisker plot

The difference between the upper and lower quartiles in a box and whisker plot.
Interquartile range

A table that lists items together according to the number of times they occur.
Frequency table

The frequency of all data values that are less than or equal to a given value.
Cumulative frequency

Use a number line and X's show frequency.
Line plot

A graph that uses vertical or horizontal bars to display data.
Bar graph
