What are some major types of agnostic disorders?
See, Hear, Feel
- 1. Auditory agnosia - inability to recognize or understand the meaning of auditory stimuli in persons whose peripheral hearing is within the normal range.
- 2. Auditiory/verbal agnosia - patients cannot understand the meaning of spoken words though they can hear them.
- 3. Visual Agnosia-the meaning of objects seen normally is not recognized. Patient can recognize by hearing the sounds they make or by touching and feeling. (cannot understand boiling water is hot)
- 4. Tactile agnosia- cannot recognize objects they touch and feel when blindfolded.
